Sydaa So

Sydaa So

Sydaa So was the son of a famous 20th century politician named Ridak Siokaado, and her wealthy entrepeneur husband Kimado So. Known for being the founder of the current reigning royal family, the So Dynasty, Sydaa So is also revered as the man who rebuilt Syana after the tyranny of the Gonsaa Dictatorship and the horrific civil war that followed.

1934-
Born in his father's home city of Ola-so, Sydaa So spent much of his early childhood in Salilan-daal, which was the captal city at the time. Sydaa's mother Ridak was a highly influential member of the Baa Di-syana and so her and her family spent much of the year in the capital city.

1944-
When Sydaa was 10 years old, his mother tragically died of a stress-related heart attack, causing him and his father to move back to Ola-so. This event stuck with Sydaa and put him off persuing a career in politics for much of his early life.

1953-
At age 19, Sydaa began working for his father's company, however he found little joy in the corporate life and believed there had to be something more meaningful he could do with his life.

1959-
After spending 5 years in his father's company, Sydaa decided to run for mayor of Ola-so, winnng in a landslide victory against the current mayor who had recently been involved in a tax scandal.

1967-
After sitting as mayor of Ola-so for 8 years, Sydaa decided to run in the Bia-o'lalaana Di-o'dia Election and won a seat in the Baa Di-jamasaa, where he sat for the next 3 years until it was time for the Baa Oda-jaras.
A few months later, Sydaa's only son Roka was born

1970-
In the 1970 Baa Oda-jaras, Sydaa was seen as an experienced and relatable candidate against many of his younger and often naive peers. This caused him to win a seat in the election and join the Baa Di-syana at the age of 36.

1976-
Having spent 6 years as a highly popular politcian in the Baa Di-syana, Sydaa decided to flee Syana 2 years into Daakas Gonsaa's reign as jaar. As he and other politicians who opposed the jaar saught refuge in America, Sydaa spoke out against the Gonsaa Dictatorship. Back in Syana, he became a figure of freedom of speech and protecting human rights, so much so that his name and media containing his face were banned from the public by the Gonsaa regime.

1985-
At the climax of the bloody civil war, Sydaa So was one of the largest voices calling for peace and for the reunification of Syana. From America, he publicly condemned the governments of both Gonsaa-so and Kaan Syana, with the former-politician delivering speeches to an audience of Syan refugees in America stating that he wished for a future where his grandchildren could grow up in a stable and united Syana.

1987-
When the US army intervened to stop the violence in Syana and reunite the splt country, Sydaa So moved back to Syana permanently so that he could mediate the peace talks and finally put an end to the conflict. Sydaa, along with 4 other politicians who had been seeking refuge in America alongside him, put forward their names as candidates for who would restore the traditional government and become the new jaar.
Sydaa won with 73% of the vote, marking the beginning of the So Dyansty. His first act as jaar was to announce the new capital, an act in which he broke tradition and made Kaan-daal Syana's new permanent capital.

2007-
After reigning as a beloved jaar for 20 years, Sydaa So died aged 73 on July 2nd 2007. Upon his death, Sydaa's now 40 year-old son Roka So ascended to the role of jaar. In honor of his late father, Roka built a 10ft tall statue of Sydaa So in the capital city, which is still adorned with flowers and memoral offerings on the anniversary of his death every year.
